Supporting Local Foodbank Charity

Ideal Foods, which has its head office located in Liskeard, Cornwall today handed over a donation of food supplies to the Liskeard and Looe Foodbank.

Each year, Ideal Foods and its staff select a charity to support. With its core business being the international trade and export of seafood and bi-products, this year the Cornish based company wanted to help local people, living in food poverty.

Food items were donated by the company and its staff, and there were also donations of sample product items donated by the suppliers working with Ideal Foods’ Channel to China project.

Jeanette Turpin, Sales Director of Ideal Foods comments:
“We are all very conscious that the winter months and in particular, Christmas time can be very difficult for individuals and families who are already managing on extremely tight budgets. Being in the food business, we are very pleased to be able to help our local community by offering this donation of food supplies to our local Foodbank.”

With Christmas looming, The Foodbank can see up to a threefold increase in the number of people coming through its’ doors. With 1 in 5 of the UK population now living below the poverty line, the emergency food supplies given out by the Foodbank are a life line to many people.

Jeanette Turpin continues:
“We very much hope that our donation will help to bring some happiness this Christmas, to the people living in crisis, in our local area.”
