After the fillet has been processed, there is a lot of the fish left over.  We take these remaining fish by-products including the head, frames, trimmings, bellies and skin and actively find markets for these products worldwide.

Fish wastage not only occurs at production but also at the point of retail.  Perfect fish of non-uniform weight and size are just a few reasons for fish products to be rejected by retailers.

In order to try and reduce fish wastage at the point of retail, Ideal Foods has launched a new trademark, ‘Love Fish, Hate Waste’, under which, the company plans to introduce a ‘Wonky Veg’ range of value added fish retail packs to the supermarkets.
