Helping to Make Dreams Become Reality
A Liskeard company is helping to make a Cornish schoolboy’s dream of cycling across Australia become reality. Ideal Foods, a specialist fish supplier, have sponsored thirteen year old Siam Juntakererket from Bodmin, for his attempt to cycle 3000 miles from Sydney to Perth. Beginning on March 3rd, Siam will aim to complete the ride in just 30 days, and if he does so, will set a new World Record for the fastest crossing of Australia by a child on a bike.
Siam said: “I am really grateful to Ideal Foods for their kind donation, which is helping greatly towards the cost of the trip.”
Siam will be accompanied by his coach Bob Brown, a renowned endurance athlete, who is the only person in history to have both run and cycled across Australia. Siam’s mum will also be following the pair in a motorhome.
Regarding the sponsorship, Tony Horner, Managing Director of Ideal Foods said:
“We are delighted to be able to support such a motivated and determined young athlete, to achieve this epic goal. Siam is a fantastic inspiration to his peers and it is refreshing to see his passion for sport and the great outdoors rather than electronic devises.
“As a local lad raising money for two great charities, we are proud to be one of his main sponsors.
“We wish Siam the very best of luck with his world record attempt and we will be following his progress all the way”.
